Iraaj
Iraaj is a village that first Persian races founded during the incipient days of their civilization. The village had always been a great barrier against the raids of the barbaric tribes and it still reflects some of the wounds that those cowards imposed on its body, but it never surrendered. Even today its stone walls and straight columns are evident over the old hills. This village with its pure and lucid water springs, its heavenly trees and its mild and gentle weather has nothing to do with crusty sky and oily smell of the dull cities.
In the texts of the third and fourth centuries of Islamic calendar Iraaj has been referred to as "Ara" and "Arabeh" (coach) and people of Khoor call it "Iraa". Iraaj has old castles located on the high lands of the village. In year 1327 of Islamic calendar and during the war between government forces and that of Ramazan Khan-e- Baseri some parts of the castle were damaged (Ramazan Khan had entered Khoor & Biabanak from Fars in 1336). The other historically important feature of Iraaj might be an old cedar with a height of more than 50 meters and an age of more than 1000 years. The mausoleum of Khezr the messenger is another historical monument located in the region.
